So I’m testing new skin tones that promise to blur imperfections and make skin look more natural. . . .
The Body Shop Second Skin Tint (£18 for 30ml) thebodyshop.com: I usually go bare as opposed to trying to tint my complexion.
For everything other than errands or the gym, I need to use concealer, but the fact that it’s as simple as a moisturizer and has an Instagram IRL filter effect makes it a good choice for makeup-free days.
If you’ve ever used any cream in a metal tube, you’re familiar with the awful sloshing when you unscrew the cap, and because the formula is so runny, it goes everywhere.
Mac Strobe Dewy Skin Tinted Moisturizer (£30 for 30 ml) lookfantastic.com: I have very oily skin, so words like “moist” sound like a wake-up call.
The formula is very thick and creamy so you can apply it directly and layer it better than the other two shades.
However, the coverage is very minimal and has a pearly shimmer that only accentuates the uneven texture on my cheeks and doesn’t hide the discoloration of my face.
However, I have used it as a glowing makeup primer and received more compliments than I can count.
ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint (£46 for 30ml) sephora.co.uk: I don’t think I will like this as the formula is self-adjusting so it starts out lighter than you think.
It has the most coverage of the three and I see myself wearing it to work, not just on days you don’t want to see anyone.
It also contains some of my favorite skin care ingredients such as niacinamide, squalane and hyaluronic acid.
The coverage is noticeable, so you won’t convince anyone that you’re not wearing makeup, but it still looks like skin.
One of my favorites from last year, Byoma skin care brand offers sophisticated, high-performance products at affordable prices that put skin health first.
This week, to coincide with its one year anniversary, the brand has released three new skin care products.
I am equally obsessed with Byoma Brightening Toner, £11.99, Byoma Hydrating Repairing Oil, £13.99 and Byoma De-puff and Brighten Eye Gel, £12.99, all available from today on Byoma. com.
